Broadcast Ready, the newsroom style service and video-only database of broadcast quality verified experts, has created a panel of top international journalists to discuss the variety, quality and credibility of the experts and spokespeople that go on the news and the audiences’ reaction to them. Unveiled on the 15th January will be the findings from the UK’s first TNS poll commissioned by Broadcast Ready on what the British public really thinks about the experts that broadcasters use on their TV and radio programmes.
Newgate Communications’ former head of broadcasting has co-launched a video-only database for journalists. Kerry Hopkins, who left Newgate in the summer, has launched Broadcast Ready alongside Lis Howell, director of broadcasting at the City University School of Journalism. The website allows media to find expert guests for broadcast with their contact details. Hopkins, who claims it is the first of its kind in the UK, said the website would "give journalists the confidence to call the experts knowing they will make compelling guests".
Broadcast Ready, a video-only online database of experts endorsed for broadcast with their phone numbers, has been launched by TV journalist and former ITV News assistant news editor and BBC News Channel producer Kerry Hopkins. Hopkins has also worked in corporate communications and public relations, advising companies such as Microsoft, Samsung, Schroders and JP Morgan Asset Management.
www.broadcastready.co.uk has been online for a few months, but in a secret place where the developers could work their magic in creating the technology, tweaking the user interface and for us to put the experts on. But on Wednesday 18th December 2013, the site will be unveiled so that anyone in the world with internet access can now see it.
